On the Farm

On the Farm / 18x18

A couple days after the painting demo I gave, I headed north to paint with Steve and Brenda Jones - and Ora, Brenda's mom.

They have friends who own a beautiful farm and were happy to let us paint there. The place was indeed stunning, with gorgeous buildings, lovely fields, rolling hills, at least one pond, and a variety of trees, flowers, grasses and other plantings.

We set up and did a painting near one barn, then had lunch, then went and painted by a pond. It was a fun day! I'll post the first painting on the website soon... Here's the second one. We all decided to try more abstract pieces in the afternoon.

Scenes from the Day

Above and below, parts of the beautiful farm where we painted.

Above, see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil. Below, our four afternoon paintings.

Dog of the Day

It's Gizmo, Fred's friend at the Jones house.
Gizmo doesn't see so well anymore, but he's funny and smart and full of fun and frolic.

A Final Thought

"Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree."

- Emily Bronte
